How to Swaddle My Baby Jun 07 , 2024

Swaddling can be beneficial for your baby in her early months. It can keep your baby warm and safe-feeling, reduce reflexive movements that may disrupt their sleep.

1. Spread out a baby blanket with the top corner folded over slightly.

2. Lay your baby face-up on the blanket with their head above the folded corner.

3. Wrap the left corner over your baby's body and tuck it beneath the back, going under the right arm.

4. Bring the bottom corner up over your baby's feet and pull it up, folding the fabric down if it gets close to your baby's face. Remember no to wrap too tightly around the hips.

5. Wrap the right corner around your baby and tuck it under them on the left side, leaving only the neck and head exposed. Make sure you can slip a hand between the blanket and your baby's chest to allow comfortable breathing, but make sure that the blanket isn’t so loose that it could come undone.

Remember to stop swaddling when your baby shows signs of starting to roll over. That’s usually around 2 months.
